  Tips to reduce Utility Bills There are so many ways to reduce your utility bills. Here are just a few.Wash clothes in cold water and hang them to dry.Make sure that all windows and doors are well sealed.Take shorter showers.Get rid of your landline phone and just use your cell.Use the BBQ or microwave.Switch light bulbs to LED as these bulbs use 75% less energy.Wrap your hot water heater with a hot water heater blanket.Change air filters in the furnace to create higher efficiency.Reduce natural gas bills by turning down the heat and installing a programmable thermostat.Clean light bulbs to increase brightness and save energy.Use low flow water fixtures.Install insulating curtains to help keep heat out in the summer and heat in in the winter.Use air conditioning sparingly and use fans to help distribute cool air.Install ceiling fans to help with cooling and distributing heat in winter months.Use programmable power bars or unplug items that are turned off such as the TV and DVD devices to reduce phantom power usage.Use appliances at off peak hours.
